DIGITAL LITERACY SKILLS TRAINING

In order to keep up with the digital age, KLIKme users will be trained in basic digital literacy skills.

This will not only raise their employability, it will also open up the world to them by teaching them how to navigate the internet and access further learning materials and explore possible income opportunities.

Why KLIKme is Focused on Digital Literacy

KLIKme seeks to bridge the huge digital divide and allow poor Filipinos to avail of the many opportunities available in the tech space.

KLIKme Advisor Jojo Flores is the co-founder of Plug & Play Tech Center, considered as the world's largest early stage investor, accelerator, & corporate innovation platform in Silicon Valley.  He returned to the Philippines to help build our tech sector and is working with KLIKme to expand the base of digitally skilled Filipino workers.

LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR A PROMISING FUTURE

Laying the foundation for a promising future

Merely learning the basics of how to use the computer, how to search the internet, and using office applications (word processing, spreadsheet, and slide presentation skills), already go a long way in raising the employability of out-of-school youth and adults.

LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR A PROMISING FUTURE

UNIQUENESS OF KLIKme DIGITAL SKILLS TRAINING

What makes our Digital Literacy Skills Training unique is that it's specifically tailored for the Filipino out-of-school youth and adults, incorporating other KLIKme components such as Life Skills, facilitated learning, and Kapwa Kapatid mentorship.

The topnotch KLIKme DigLit team is led by Cherie Perez Woo (a Filipino-American IT professional from the Silicon Valley area), and composed of dedicated people from elite learning institutions in the Philippines (MINT College, St. Theresa's College QC, and Ateneo de Manila University), information technology industry experts, as well as young GKONOMICS scholars from Gawad Kalinga communities, who are all working together to ensure that KLIKme learners go through a program that is accessible, interesting, and relevant.

No other digital literacy program is quite like it!

CRITICAL INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT

Our educational institution base

Meridian International College (MINT College) is a co-founder of KLIKme and is our key partner committed to provide the necessary digital literacy skills training to KLIKme learners.

MINT COLLEGE: OUR FIRST DIGITAL LITERACY TRAINING PARTNER

Having MINT College as KLIKme's first academic institutional partner was very critical in KLIKme's early years.  MINT's pioneering efforts in education and social entrepreneurship perfectly complement KLIKme's efforts.

MINT's world-class facilities and internationally experienced professionals and educators have been generously made available to KLIKme by MINT president Bal Endriga, Freddie Tinga, Henrik Kiamzon, and Grace Pagkatipunan, and the dedicated MINT College team.

PAST DIGITAL LITERACY SKILLS TRAINING FOR KLIKME PILOT COMMUNITIES

In 2012-2013, KLIKme's predecessor, KLIK AKADEMY, trained over 9,000 people in Taguig, Navotas, Cavite and Bulacan in basic digital skills.

From 2017 through 2019, KLIKme conducted Digital Literacy Skills Training in partnership with MINT College in Payatas and Smokey Mountain communities as part of the initial KLIKme program pilot.

These experiences tremendously helped us in putting together an online, app-based Digital Skills Training Program for our KLIKme Mobile App.

KLIKme Predecessor: KLIK AKADEMY

KLIK AKADEMY served as inspiration to KLIKme to bring basic digital skills training to the communities.
